Lawton police investigate possible homicide

LAWTON, Okla._Lawton police are investigating what could be the first homicide of the year.

A man's body was found in an alley near Northwest 2nd Street and Ferris Avenue. A passerby spotted the man's body around 9:30 a.m. Monday, but since then, details have been hard to come by. At this time, police have not been released the man's name, age or cause of death. But they are investigating his death as a homicide.

Neighbors have had mixed reactions; some say they're used to this kind of stuff, but other, like Denise Warn, feel that now they can't go outside as much.

"It's got to be somebody we know. And that means whoever probably got him has been walking right by us, lives by us or drives down the road," said Warn.

The Lawton Police Department says the investigation is just beginning and there are no other details to release at this time.
