Resident, suspect exchange gunfire in apartment parking lot

LAWTON, Okla._Police are looking for a woman they believe tried breaking into cars at a Lawton apartment complex before exchanging gunfire with a resident.

Officers arrived at Tanglewood Apartments on Northwest Terrace hills Boulevard just before midnight Saturday. One of the residents told police when he was letting his dog out, he saw an unknown white woman trying to get into several vehicles in the parking lot, including his own car. The man told police he attempted to confront the woman, but it looked like she was reaching for a gun. So, he went back inside to get his own gun. When he came back out, the woman fired at him and he fired back. The woman reportedly got into a silver, four-door car and drove away.

Another vehicle was hit during the incident and leaked fuel. No injuries were reported.
