Music group performs for Lawton veterans

LAWTON, Okla._The Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center hosted the 'Re-creation' music group.

Re-creation's main mission is to hospitalized veterans. They travel to every single VA medical center and state veterans home in the country and put on a full stage show as a way to give back to veterans for all their years of service. Re-creation has been performing for veterans for more than 40 years. In fact, they are celebrating their 40th anniversary edition this year.

"Just that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the freedoms we have today if it weren't for the veterans, and that's why Re-creation will always be around to make sure they know that they are special and appreciated," said Tirus Twyne, road manager for Re-creation.

Re-creation is made up of all volunteers who give freely of their time to be able to give back to veterans across the nation.
