Annual Amtryke races

LAWTON, Okla_ On your mark, get set, go! It was the Annual Mountain Metro AMBUCS Amtryke races Saturday.

Community leaders, business workers, and even some of our 7News team tried out the Amtryke bikes.

The races are done every year to get the AMBUCS name out there so they can recruit new members and ultimately raise more funds for more Amtrykes.

Three of those were given out to three deserving children right before the races.

"It never gets old. We could give an Amtryke away a day. At our car show we gave away 10. It never gets old to see the look on the children's faces," Lynda Bentley, with Mountain Metro AMBUCS, said.

The bikes help children and adults with disabilities get around. There are three different AMBUCS organizations in our area; to find out more information you can visit these web sites: for Mountain Metro AMBUCS click here, Great Plains AMBUCS click here, or Lawton AMBUCS click here.
