Monday's rain causes minor flooding

LAWTON, Okla._Monday's torrential rainfall caused some minor street flooding and some swollen creeks and streams throughout Lawton.

The intersection of Northwest 16th Street and Williams Avenue was one of many locations that saw local flooding. Fire crews were called to the neighborhood several times after drivers realized just how deep the water was. Fortunately, none had to be rescued. And on the south side of Lawton, water in the drainage canal at Southwest 15th Street and Park Avenue came close to the overpass, but did not run over.

At least one person on Southeast 45th Street needed help getting their car out of flood water and one person shared a video of water flooding her daughter's bedroom.
