Homicide investigation continues, wife arrested for paraphernalia

LAWTON, Okla._Lawton police have confirmed that they are actively investigating the city's second homicide of 2015.

Lawton police were called to the home at 614 SW Roosevelt Avenue after a husband and wife were shot. The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say officers responded to home and found Karl and Kelly Huffmaster with gunshot wounds.

According to police, Kelly Huffmaster told them she was sitting on the couch when a black male wearing a black hoodie with red lettering kicked open the door and demanded money. He then pointed a pistol at her and shot her and her husband. The suspect may have gotten into an older gray car with two other men.

Karl Huffmaster died at the hospital from his injuries. Kelly Huffmaster suffered a non-life threatening wound to her hand.

Police also arrested Kelly Huffmaster for possession of drug paraphernalia. According to her arrest report, marijuana drug paraphernalia was found in the Huffmaster's home.

Police say they have questioned several people , but no arrests have been made in their homicide investigation.

    A man is behind bars after an Oklahoma woman says she was nearly run over when the man dumped two dogs off at an animal rescue. She says the man drove to the animal rescue near Prague and left the two dogs behind, but almost ran over the dogs backing out.  When she tried to get the dogs out of the way, he slammed into her. She held on to the hood for almost a mile to avoid slipping under the vehicle.
