Style show raises money for Angel Tree, Boys and Girls Club

LAWTON, Okla._The Salvation Army put on their 21st annual Women's Auxiliary Style Show at the Great Plains Technology Center Thursday.

Ten models displayed fashions from Dillard's during the event, which began at noon. Lawton firefighters showcased furniture from Brady's and participants could win door prizes or take part in a silent auction. Miss Lawton attended the event and put on a special performance for attendees.

"We hope to raise $8,000 and the money that we raise today, this is our only fundraiser, and the money that we raise today is used to support the Angel Tree, which is our big project for the Women's Auxiliary. In 2014 we helped 850 children with Christmas that might not have had Christmas otherwise."

Money from the fundraiser will also help send children from the Boys and Girls Club to camp, as well as support other clubs and the Salvation Army's programs and activities.
