Freedom Elementary opens Friday morning

FORT SILL, Okla_Freedom Elementary opens its doors to 1,100 student's Friday morning.

Crews and teachers spent today putting on finishing touches to make sure everything is up and ready to go when students arrive Friday morning.

Lawton Public Schools Superintendent Tom Dieghan said he expects tomorrow's opening to be a special experience.

"It's going to be a little chaotic as we try to nail this down. When you take 1,100 students and 1,100 sets of parents, and you put them into a new fish bowl for the first time, there is going to be some adjusting," Dieghan said.

Deighan said they will use the last two weeks of the school year to iron out all of the difficulties so come August, Freedom Elementary families and teachers can start out on the right foot.
