Lawton Arts for All Festival starts Friday

LAWTON, Okla._In less than 24 hours, the 41st annual Lawton Arts for All Festival will kick off in downtown Lawton.

Arts for All board members said the festival, a three day event that showcases the work of talented artists, takes a year to plan for, and without the help from more than 100 volunteers it wouldn't be possible. So, they wanted to show their gratitude for the gift they give the community.

"The festival is also a gift back to the community and it's a chance for families to come to celebrate the arts and to really think about the value of art and culture in our community," said Bobbi Machette, executive director.

The Arts for All Festival starts Friday with food vendors opening at noon. Artists will start selling from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday's hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday's schedule starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m.

If severe weather causes a cancellation, the announcement will be made on the arts for all website, lawtonafa.org
