Dozen of cars stranded after heavy rain

LAWTON, Okla._Thursday's torrential showers fell hard and fast in a short amount of time and wreaked havoc on many neighborhood streets.

Around half a dozen cars became stranded after streets were covered with up to 12 inches of water. Two cars were stranded near the intersection of Southwest 19th Street and Washington Avenue and had to be towed away.

When police arrived at most of the stranded cars, they say the drivers had already left.
