Severe weather closes Arts for All early

LAWTON, Okla._Arts for All kicked off its 41st annual festival Friday at Shepler Park in downtown Lawton briefly before the incoming storm shut it down for the night.

The event features local food vendors and showcases work from artists from across the nation. One of the artists, Ron Kuykendall from Wichita Falls, has been bringing his pottery pieces to Arts for All for the 10 years. He says while no two pieces of this work are the same, he does cater to his regular customers.

"I keep the basic colors the same so people can come in a year or two from now and purchase one and it will fit with the set of whatever they have," Kuykendall said.

The events will continue throughout the weekend, weather permitting of course. Saturday's events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. and go until 8:00 p.m., Sunday will begin at 11:00 a.m. and finish up at 5:00 p.m.

Any cancellations will be announced on the arts for all website, which is lawtonafa.org
