Jail trustee back behind bars after running from city employee

LAWTON, Okla._A jail trustee is back behind bars after taking off from a city vehicle.

Leo Engles was on his way back to the City Jail with an employee Friday when he suddenly lunged toward the worker and grabbed the gear shift of the city vehicle. Police say Engles threw the car in park while it was moving through Sheridan and Lee, removed the keys and took off running.

Police later found Engles hiding in a home on 23rd Place. He was taken back to jail with new charges -- escaping custody, petit larceny and disorderly conduct.
