Edwards appeals court decision

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla._An appellate court is reviewing a judge's decision to try a Duncan teen as an adult for his role in Christopher Lane's death.

James Edwards Jr. has appealed the court's decision to be tried as an adult for accessory to murder to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals for his alleged role in the murder of Australian native Christopher Lane.

The 17-year-old recently testified in the first-degree murder trial of Chancey Luna. Edwards said Luna shot Lane from the back seat of a car being driven by 19-year-old Michael Jones.

Luna was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. While Jones, who was convicted of second-degree murder, will be eligible for parole in 38 years.

The outcome of Edwards' hearing is expected to be announced in the next few days.
