Chamber of Commerce hosts Armed Forces Day luncheon

LAWTON, Okla._The Lawton/Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce hosted the 51st annual Armed Forces Day luncheon Friday.

The event's keynote address was provided by retired U.S. Army Major Ed Pulido, who is the senior vice president of the Folds of Honor Foundation. The luncheon was held to kick off the Armed Forces Day weekend. However, this years' Armed Forces Day parade has been canceled. Pulido says that Armed Forces weekend is very special to him because it's a weekend where we can honor the men and women who have fought for our freedom.

"In this community, it's special because Fort Sill is the anchor for the Lawton community and I think that it's very important for people to understand that the Lawton community along with Fort Sill stand together to provide the best support possible and to honor our veterans," said Pulido.

The Folds of Honor foundation gives scholarships to the fallen and wounded.
