LAWTON, Okla._Detectives from the Lawton Police Department worked with agents from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and a U.S. Marshal to arrest two men in a buy/bust operation Sunday.
Just after noon Sunday, authorities followed Rogelio Gurrola and David Acosta to a buy location. There, Gurrola completed a transaction for approximately 37 pounds of marijuana. Detectives seized the marijuana and arrested Gurrola for trafficking marijuana.
During an interview with Acosta, he admitted to knowing that Rogelio was transporting marijuana to sell and said he was going along in case something happened. Acosta was arrested on a complaint of conspiracy to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After the arrests, police searched Gurrola's home and found a firearm, about one pound of marijuana and $13,105 in cash. Nearly 60 grams of marijuana was found in Acosta's garage along with a digital scale and a box of baggies.
