Marine veteran marching across America

LAWTON, Okla._A veteran whose march across America started in North Carolina made his way through the Lawton-Fort Sill area Friday.

Marine veteran Gunnery Sergeant Wesley Roy Brady, Junior is trying to raise awareness of the sacrifices our military veterans have made, especially those who are wounded in combat. He's trying to raise money for the Combat Wounded Veterans Challenge. The group provides medical innovations and treatments for vets who've lost limbs, or suffered traumatic brain injuries and psychological trauma.

"It's very important, I mean, men and women can go across overseas somewhere, you know, defend their country or fight for what they have to at the time. They should have the best of care when they return home, said Brady."

Brady's walk is scheduled to take him to Camp Pendleton, California. Brady's goal is to raise $35,000. You can help by donating to his challenge fund by logging onto the Combat Wounded Veteran Challenge website at combatwounded.org/walk.
