Mayoral candidates speak at forum

LAWTON, Okla._With Lawton's mayoral election just days away, Great Plains Ambucs hosted a candidate forum at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Each candidate was given about 10 minutes to speak, which was allowed by a short question and answer session. Mayor Fred Fitch has served as mayor since December 2009. He formerly served as president and CEO of his family's business, Fitch Industrial Inc.

Fitch's challenger, Sherene L. Williams, is a Lawton native and a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

The election for Lawton's city mayor will take place next Tuesday, June 9.
