Local legislators talk about 2015 session

LAWTON, Okla._A group of Oklahoma lawmakers briefed the public Tuesday on the wrap up of the 2015 legislative session.

While some expressed disappointment, particularly in regards to the diminished budget the state faced this year, most legislators say they are ready to meet the new session head on and work to do what's best for Oklahoma.

"It's just like in the farming business, some years you don't have good years, some years you just have to knuckle down and do the best you can with what you have," said Rep. Jeff Coody.

"I look forward to getting back to the Capitol and working on some issues that hopefully will be able to improve the state," said Rep. John Michael Montgomery.

Though some lawmakers will return to the Capitol during the interim period between sessions, the next session will not begin until the first Monday of February 2016.
