One person killed in traffic collision

RUSH SPRINGS, Okla._A man was killed when he was struck by a car along US Highway 81.

It happened just north of the Highway 17 intersection. The highway patrol said the driver of an SUV drifted off the road to the right, and hit the victim. The car then continued briefly down the road before it struck a drainage ditch.

The victim was identified as 47-year-old Gordon Pipkin. He was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries. A child in the SUV was treated for a minor head injury.

Troopers are still investigating why the driver went off the road.

    LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- All three Lawton high schools were placed on lockdown today after someone called Crimestoppers, saying they had heard about a threat targeting each one of the schools.
