Bankston sentenced for involvement in double homicide

LAWTON, Okla._A judge formally sentenced a Lawton teen for his involvement in the double homicide of a father and his son in their own home.

Wesley Bankston, who was 17 at the time of the murder, will now spend at least the next 38 years in prison. He was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for two counts of first-degree murder.

Bankston is one of five connected to the murder of Uwe and Stefan Rushing in January 2014. Uwe's son, Thorsten, is the alleged trigger man in the murders.

Bankston pleaded guilty in April to the two murder counts and to conspiracy to commit murder. He'll serve 10 years for that charge, which will run concurrently with his life sentence.
