Teen arrested after high-speed chase, crashing stolen car

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton teen is behind bars following a high-speed police chase Wednesday morning.

The chase started just after 9:00 a.m. after an elderly couple reported a hit-and-run at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Gore Boulevard. The couple followed the vehicle and reported the license plate number to police who caught up with the driver at 11th Street and Gore Boulevard.

The driver sped away and police gave chase with speeds reaching more than 120 mph. The chase ended when the driver lost control and crashed into a home at 29th Street and Gore Boulevard. The suspect ran away, but police caught him a few blocks over.

They say the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen earlier in the morning. No word on who the driver is or what charges he might be facing.
