Lawton woman celebrates centennial birthday

LAWTON, Okla._One hundred years ago, World War I was underway, Woodrow Wilson was president and a very special woman was born.

Bonnie Ladner celebrated her 100th birthday Wednesday with family and friends at the Chateau of Lawton. She was born June 17, 1915. Her son, Ben, says she's been on the go ever since.

"When I asked her what's her secret, she said 'I never stopped moving.' And that's really true. At 92, she climbed a tree and got a saw and cut off a limb about that big. She's done those things all her life," said Ladner.

Bonnie was married 77 years before her husband passed away at the age of 96. She has three children, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grand kids.
