Rasco charged with first-degree murder

LAWTON, Okla._The man accused in Lawton's second homicide of 2015 has been charged.

Marquise Rasco appeared in court Thursday for the first time since his arrest. He's been charged with first-degree murder, assault and battery with a deadly weapon and robbery with a weapon.

The affidavit says Rasco was armed with a gun when he kicked in the front door of a home where Karl and Kelly Huffmaster were living. It says Rasco pointed the gun at Kelly and took $190 from a table near where she was sitting. That's when Karl Huffmaster entered the room and pushed Rasco into a door. The affidavit states Rasco shot Karl Huffmaster in the side before Kelly grabbed the gun and he shot her in the hand. Kelly was later able to identify Rasco from a lineup.

Rasco's bond has been set at $850,000 and he is scheduled for another court appearance in July.
