Wanted Altus man caught in West Virginia

ALTUS, Okla._A man with three felony arrest warrants out of Jackson County for burglaries was caught in West Virginia after being on the run since November 2014.

Ronald Aaron Murphy, 32, was arrested by West Virginia State Police. He was stopped on a traffic violation and gave police a fake name. Police were able to positively identify Murphy and took him into custody.

Murphy was identified as the prime suspect in two November 2014 burglaries, which he left DNA evidence at. He left blood at both of the crime scenes, Altus police submitted the blood to OSBI and it came back as a match to Murphy. The two burglaries consisted of stealing a handgun and a check book. His third felony warrant was for a failure to appear on a false declaration of ownership in pawn, which is unrelated to the two burglaries.

Murphy is awaiting an extradition hearing in West Virginia before he will be brought back to Jackson County.
