FEMA center can help denied applicants

LAWTON, Okla._If you applied for FEMA assistance and did not get approved, there is still hope.

County officials say you may not have turned in the proper paperwork. Nearly 500 people have applied for assistance at the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at Tomlinson Middle School, but not everyone has received an acceptance letter. If you go back, they can tell you what documentation you need and what to do next.

Right now, attendance is low and FEMA expects to close the center July 11 unless more people start coming in. It's currently open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

They are closed on Sundays and the Fourth of July weekend.
