Velma hosts inaugural Super Summer Celebration

VELMA, Okla._The town of Velma of holding their very first Super Summer Celebration on June 26 and 27.

Velma's Super Summer Celebration consists of a town-wide garage sale, a run, karaoke, bands and fireworks.

The garage sale spans Friday and Saturday. A map of garage sale locations can be picked up from Town Hall.

The Velma EMS Community Run is Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and runners will receive a T-shirt, the cost is $20. For more information, contact Patricia at 606-7753.

Friday, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., LL Humphrey Park will be filled with the sounds of folks trying their hand at karaoke.

Music will be played all day Saturday at LL Humphrey Park with local talent and a free concert at 7:00 p.m. featuring Common Tyme and The Brad Good Band. A fireworks show will end the night at 10:00 p.m.
