Boil order issue for Henrietta, TX water customers

Boil order issue for Henrietta, TX water customers

HENRIETTA, Texas_ The City of Henrietta, Texas has issued a boil order for water customers. It's due to a positive bacteriological test. Below if the full press release from the city:---

                          BOIL WATER NOTIFICATION

Due to a repeat distribution system positive bacteriological test, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our public water system, City of Henrietta, PWS ID #0390001, to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

City of Henrietta crews are currently flushing the entire water distribution system.  Once the flushing is completed, samples will be collected and transported to the laboratory for the bacteriological testing.  Once the testing is completed and results forwarded to the City, the customers will be notified that it is no longer necessary to boil the water and the water is safe for consumption.  The Boil Water Rescind Notice will be issued in the same manner as this Boil Water Notice.

If a customer wishes to reach TCEQ, they may call (512) 239-4691.
