Police chase ends in arrest

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton man is facing several charges after police say he tossed drugs and cash out the window during a chase.

Police say they started following Gregory Dixon after he failed to signal when he turned onto Southwest 4th Street from Monroe Avenue. Police continued to follow him and the chase started at Southwest 5th Street and Washington Avenue when they tried to pull Dixon over for speeding. Dixon kept going on a one-mile chase before crashing his car into a fence pole, getting out and making a run for it.

Soon after, he was captured by Special Operations and Gang Task Force officers. Police say the bag he tossed during the chase contained 58 grams of crack cocaine, 32 ecstasy pills and $2,500.

Dixon was arrested on several charges including eluding police and drug trafficking.
