LAWTON, Okla._Cities across Texoma are gearing up for the Fourth of July weekend, including Lawton whose inaugural Freedom Festival is Saturday.
Crews have been working for the last few days to get the park ready for Saturday's event. The festival will kick off at Elmer Thomas Park at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with a car show and pet adoption. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the first of eight music performances hits the stage. Food vendors open at noon. Bounce houses and other fun activities for the kids start at 1:00 p.m. Then at 9:30 p.m., there will be a choreographed firework show that has been touted as one of the largest in Oklahoma.
As far as parking, you can either park next to the park, or there will be free shuttles from Lawton High and McMahon Auditorium.
