Speed plays role in death of motorcyclist

LAWTON, Okla._Lawton police say speed is to blame for a fatal motorcycle accident that happened Friday night.

Police say Jeffery Walters was heading south on 2nd Street, going at least 80 mph, on his motorcycle. They say a woman going north on 2nd Street turned west onto “I” Avenue and Walters slammed into her car and flew off his motorcycle. Walters was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police say no charges will be brought against the woman.
