UPDATE: Lawton police investigate city's 5th homicide

LAWTON, Okla_ Lawton Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found unresponsive in the street near 17th and A Avenue.

Officers were called to 1714 SW A Avenue around 11:20 Friday night after two people walking down the street found 36-year-old Keith Wayne Kern lying in the driveway.  Police say one called 911 while the other attempted life saving measures.

Once police got to the area they found Kern on the ground with blood on his clothes, still unresponsive.

Kern was taken to the hospital where he died from apparent knife wounds.  He has since been transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City for an autopsy.
