Arrested: Man accused of making threatening statements

DUNCAN, Okla._A Duncan man, accused of threatening to perform an act of violence, is in the Stephens County Jail.

Duncan police say they received a call from 22-year-old Blake Bartlett, saying he was going to kill everyone and then himself. Bartlett also said he had explosives in his room and would detonate them when police arrived. Officers responded and found Bartlett near the intersection of Timber Ridge Drive and Timbercreek Drive.

The police report says Bartlett threw something at an officer and ran away. Officers gave chase, eventually catching up to him. But when they put him in the patrol car, Bartlett slipped out of his cuffs. Officers were then forced to place him in leg cuffs.

Bartlett is being held in the Stephens County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
