Driver crashes into fence, later caught "huffing"

LAWTON, Okla._A distracted driver found huffing paint was arrested after nearly running over a Lawton firefighter.

The driver hopped a curb near Northwest 31st Street and Ferris Avenue where he crashed into a fence.  Witnesses said the driver looked like he was having a seizure and was slumped over the wheel. When firefighters tried to check on him, he was allegedly found huffing a compressed air can. After seeing police, officers say the driver threw his car into reverse and nearly ran over a firefighter. The driver was stopped by a police officer who bashed in the car’s passenger side window, and removed the keys from the ignition.

In a measure of precaution, the suspect was taken to the hospital before being transferred to the Lawton City Jail.
