Recruitment offices taking precautions

LAWTON, Okla._Several Lawton military installations are taking precautionary measures following last week's attack on a National Guard recruitment center in Tennessee that killed five military servicemen.

Governor Mary Fallin has authorized the use of weapons to protect personnel and property. And while recruitment center in Lawton have not gone to the extreme of arming their soldier's, they are taking some precautions.

The Army, Marine Corps and Air Force recruitment centers, all located in Central Mall, are operating with their doors locked and blinds drawn. The Army has also implemented a buddy system and is encouraging soldiers to wear civilian clothing when not at work.

Each branch has been notified to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
