NTSB releases new report on fatal Air Evac crash

WICHITA FALLS, Texas_The NTSB has released a new report on a fatal helicopter crash that took the lives of three people.

The NTSB’s report says the pilot of the Air Evac chopper tried to go around a hospital helipad because he felt they were going too fast to land safely. The report says the pilot failed to account for the helicopter's airspeed, and the chopper launched into a violent spin when he tried to turn. The chopper crashed into the ground and exploded shortly after impact.

Three people died in the October crash, including a flight nurse, a flight paramedic and the patient.
