Stephens County DA honored with award

STEPHENS COUNTY, Okla._ District Attorney Jason Hicks was recently named the Outstanding District Attorney by the State DA's Association.

The criteria includes integrity, professionalism and public service. Hicks received the award Thursday during the association's annual summer conference. He said he was humbled by the confidence of his fellow prosecutors in naming him this year's winner. 

Another member of Hicks' staff was honored at that same event; Justin Scott won the Outstanding Investigator Award. Scott has worked in the DA's office for 16 years. 

Hicks praised Scott for his excellent work in securing convictions in cases ranging from drug crimes to murders.
