LAWTON, Okla._The Lawton Rangers were busy at work Saturday morning preparing a full spread of breakfast foods to kick off Lawton's 114th birthday week.
Lawton Ranger Paul Cherry said the turnout for this year's breakfast was excellent and one of the best in recent memory. He said a few hundred came out for the five dollar meal but he was happiest to serve those who didn't need to pay.
"Most important thing is that the vets got to eat free. There is a lot of comradery, not only amongst the rangers, but the rangers feel blessed to be able to serve these guys. It's a real good deal," Cherry said.
