Oklahoma officer arrested on controlled substance complaint

EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) _ The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation says agents have arrested a Checotah police officer on a complaint of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

The OSBI says 35-year-old K9 Officer Matthew Benton LaMasters was arrested on Friday following an investigation by the OSBI and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Investigators say the chief of the Checotah Police Department asked OSBI to investigate the disappearance of drugs about a month ago.

Jail records indicate that LaMasters was booked into the McIntosh County Detention Center early Saturday. It was not immediately clear if he is represented by an attorney.
