Duncan grad is newest Thunder Girl

DUNCAN, Okla._A Duncan High School graduate will be part of the Oklahoma City Thunder organization this season.

Lauren Wilmes has been selected to be one of the Thunder Girls. They perform at all the team's home games, and make other personal appearances during the year. The final round of auditions were held at the Riverwind Casino in Norman just a few days ago. Lauren says she is thrilled to be a part of such a popular organization.

"Definitely wanted to continue performing and entertaining and getting to keep doing my passion of dancing, but I also wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself that was very involved in the community. And to have a chance to meet so many Oklahomans is just a dream come true," Wilmes said.

During the final auditions, Lauren says hers was the last name called as one of the team members. This weekend, she will head to Oklahoma City to begin training camp.
