LAWTON, Okla._The scorching sun didn't stop more than 400 people from coming out to run or walk for three miles Thursday evening.
The crowd came to the Lawton YMCA to celebrate the two-year anniversary of 3 Mile Thursday. Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Spirit of Survival hosted Thursday night's event. Marketing director Lori Cummins says she's glad to see the event has done so well over the past two years and looks forward to many more.
"We have this event twice a month on the first and the third Thursdays of the month whether it's hot or cold or raining. Whatever the weather is we all show up and it's growing and it's getting more popular. And we're hoping that with the event this Thursday more people will know about it and start joining us regularly," Cummins said.
Other than being active, people also enjoyed live music, free pink t-shirts and food trucks.
