United Way of Stephens County welcomes new executive director

DUNCAN, Okla._The United Way of Stephens County is welcoming a new executive director, and he’s familiar with leadership in the area.

Ed Darling has been named as the executive director for the organization. Darling is a career journalist who has been the publisher for several different newspapers across Oklahoma, and recently retired as editor of the Duncan Banner.

Darling has received a number of awards for his dedication to community involvement, and he's been named Duncan's Distinguished Citizen.

United Way officials say they're looking forward to Darling expanding the organization's ability to help people in need. Darling assumes the position on Monday.
