Lawton Rangers Rodeo Parade set for Saturday

LAWTON, Okla._The Lawton Rangers are putting on a parade in downtown Lawton before the last night of the rodeo.

Everyone is invited to come out and watch the parade, led by parade marshal Colonel Glenn Waters, Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Just before the parade, at 9:30 a.m., there will be a children’s costume contest for children 10 and younger. The contest will be in front of the reviewing stand on ‘D’ Avenue between 5th Street and 6th Street. Categories include best-dressed cowboy, cowgirl and clown. There will be awards for each division.

The parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of 5th Street and ‘C’ Avenue. The parade will head west to 9th Street, then turn south to ‘D’ Avenue and head back to Central Mall. Before the parade gets back to the reviewing stand, the Marlow Gunfighters will perform.

Make sure to get there early to find a good spot to watch the parade.
