Extreme heat causes concrete to buckle

LAWTON, Okla._The extreme heat affected the roads Friday evening on the eastbound side of Cache Road, near Northwest 19th Street.

The concrete buckled after baking in our triple-digit temperatures. City crews have blocked off that portion of the road until they can get it fixed. City officials tell us Friday night, that work won't begin till Monday. They also say it will take about two weeks to repair.

They will close one lane at a time to fix the crack, so be aware of that lane closure over the next several days.
