Man charged for using counterfeit money

LAWTON, Okla._A man accused of passing hundreds of dollars in counterfeit money was charged with the crime Monday.

Prosecutors say Reginald Warner used several fake $20 bills, all sharing the same serial number, to buy a $320 gift card at Walmart, and a $300 gift card at CVS. In the Walmart incident, prosecutors say his girlfriend was the clerk, and knew the money was fake. She has since been charged with embezzlement. Court records show investigators have connected the fake money to at least nine other similar offenses.

Warner faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
