Chickasha woman charged with running over husband

CARNEGIE, Okla._A Chickasha woman has been charged with first-degree manslaughter after police say she struck and killed her husband with her car on a Kiowa County highway.

Whitney Gonzales, 23, was charged Wednesday in the death of 24-year-old Pete Gonzales. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Gonzales was driving on Highway 9 early May 16 in an attempt to find her husband after an argument. Authorities say she struck the victim in the roadway near Carnegie. Troopers say Gonzales smelled of alcohol at the time.

Pete Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene.
