Woman sent to hospital after car crash

MEDICINE PARK, Okla._ A woman was sent to a Lawton hospital after crashing her car into a fence bordering Fort Sill.

Troopers say it happened just before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday near the Highway 49 and Highway 58 junction close to Medicine Park. They say 65-year-old Connie Mays of Altus apparently blacked out due to a medical problem before she ran a stop sign and hit a wall of dirt. We're told her car went over an embankment before crashing through the fence.

OHP says Mays was taken to Southwestern Medical Center and was in fair condition at last check.
