Brady pleads guilty, sentenced for fatal wreck

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday for first-degree manslaughter for his in role in a crash that killed a woman in April 2014.

Rashad Brady, 28, will spend the next 35 years in prison with a possible suspended sentence after the first 25 years. Brady was driving his car in excess of 100 mph near Northwest Fort Sill Boulevard and Smith Avenue when he slammed into a car waiting at a stop light.

The driver of that car, Helen Laurenzana, died as a result of the crash.

Her family was in attendance at the sentencing where Brady spoke to them and asked for their forgiveness.

Brady is required to fulfill at least 85 percent of his sentence before the possibility of parole.
