Voters pass bonds, school annexation

SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA_Voters in the Duke, Hollis and Navajo School Districts took to the polls Tuesday to decide on bonds and annexation.

Voters in the Navajo School District were deciding on a $1.3 million bond to pay for updates to the schools' utilities. The vote passed, 157-43.

Duke voters also has a bond issue on the ballot for just over $3 million. The plan is for that to go toward replacing the heating and cooling systems, repairing the school roof and building a new building for school activities. The vote passed, 136-51.

In Hollis, voters decided on whether or not to let the Southwest Tech Center in Altus annex their district in order to give students better educational opportunities. The vote passed, 260-99.
