Dream Home tour helps feed hungry children

LAWTON, Okla._The Oaks Development Company is hosting their 7th annual Dream Home tour to support Lawton Food 4 Kids.

The public is invited to check out this year’s home at 6326 SW Red Oak Blvd. on Saturday and Sunday, September 19-20. There is a $5 admission fee, which goes directly to Lawton Food 4 Kids. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to win a floral arrangement from Scott's House of Flowers or a selection of gift baskets.

Food 4 Kids is a program that provides chronically hungry elementary school children in Lawton Public School’s with backpacks full of food to take home over the weekends and on school holidays. Over the past six years, the Oaks Development Company has raised more than $21,000 for Food 4 Kids between their Dream Home tours and Christmas Parade of Homes.

This year’s Dream Home is dubbed the ‘Sapphire Chateau.’ It’s a 2,506-square-foot transitional style home that harmoniously blends traditional and contemporary elements. It comes complete with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage. The home will be furnished by Kimbro Furniture with accessories provided by The Dust Bowl, Pepper Berry and Country Rhoads at PastPerfect Too. Visitors can view a fully equipped chef’s gourmet kitchen, two master suites, a state-of-the-art sound insulated home theater and an outdoor living room with a full service outdoor kitchen, furnished by Easton’s Ace Hardware.

The Dream Home tour is available on Saturday, September 19, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tour times continue on Sunday, September 20, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The home is located in the Oak Ridge addition, 1 mile south of Southwest Lee Boulevard on 67th Street, left into Oak Ridge.
