Altus police investigate Parks and Recreation burglary

ALTUS, Okla._Altus police are investigating a burglary at Altus Parks and Recreation.

Police say the Parks and Recreation building at 601 Katy Dr. was broken into between Thursday night and Friday morning. The break-in was reported to police Monday morning. Investigators believe the suspect entered the yard by cutting through the exterior fence.

Once the suspect was in the yard, police say approximately $5,000 worth of various gas powered tools—including chainsaws, weed eaters and pole saws—was taken from the storage area.
